She had always read about hero's on her book and ever since she was a little girl all Vicky could think about was how her life would be when she was older filled with the imagination of her night in shinning armour or the thought of her prince charming sweeping her up off her feet taking her in his arms and asking her for her hand in marriage. Well that was all well and good all those years ago Vicky was now 30 year old and she still was waiting for anything like that to happen. So far her life was consisted of work work and more work a divorce the loss of her father and her boss getting on her back for the past 10 years. Rolling her eyes she decided on to not let him get to her but every time she thought she was strong enough she backed right down and give in went home and cried herself to sleep like she did most nights. Her life was so boring and lonely would any one even miss her if she disappeared off the face of the earth she wondered. Of course not, Stepping in front of the mirror she shook her hair down out of the pony tail she had been wearing all day give it a quick brush then made her way into the kitchen to make her dinner. grabbing the microwaveable curry out the microwave walked into the sitting room and curled up watching the tv. Just as she was about to take the first bite she heard a smashing sound coming from her back yard. Jumping to her feet she grabbed the baseball bat that she kept at the side of the sofa and crept towards the back door. Looking out the window from the small gap under the blind Vicky glanced round but she couldnt see anything about to turn round she heard Bolto her half wolf cry out, not thinking twice she opened the door and ran out into the yard wondering how he got out in the first place. She tried to call out to him but he never came to her. calling again he heard his cries again spinning round she ran round the side to find him laying there on the ground, out the corner of her eye she saw a tall figure jump over the fence.
Running to him he had been hurt his white/brown fur was now stained with blood. Picking him up she carried him into the house and phone for her friend to come pick her to go to the vets.
Waiting in the reception she kept looking towards the door for the vet to come out and tell her he was ok. he was her best friend she couldn't lose him Vicky had him since she found him in the woods alone when he was just a pup he had been left behind after his mom had been killed. he was all she had. yet another hour had gone by and the door eventually opened it had seemed like forever she thought but at least she was eventually taking him home seeing the vet walk out she jumped to her feet. Looking confused she looked round but she couldn't see Bolto any where. looking down she saw his colour and lead in the vets hand and new he wasnt coming home. Taking the things from him she walked out slowly as the tears fell from her face. Getting home she picked up his things and the toys that were in the kitchen and took them into the bedroom with her. Laying down to sleep she broke down.
"Oh god please just take me my life is fucking shit as it is just take my life and let me die alone i hate my life take me from it please" she pleaded. Vicky couldn't take it any more she had had enough of all the rubbish closing her eyes she hoped she would never wake up this life was taking its toll she just wanted it all to end.
The sun light shone in through the window heating up her face, Vicky rose slowly up from the bed. looking round her jaw dropped where was she and what the hell was that. looking over at the chair she noticed a long dress that looked like it was from the 1800's, what the hell was going on. Looking round for her clothes she couldnt find them any where. going over to the window her eyes went wide and she went all pale what was going on here. getting dressed she went down stairs and as she got half way down she froze. this wasnt happening it couldnt be, this wasnt her downstairs it was a ...a ... a saloon. Not believing what she was seeing she continued to walk down the stairs she had to be dreaming. Walking over to the bar she looked round catching the sight of a familiar face she knew she had to be dreaming.
"Daddy?" her words surrounded the sheriff at the far side of the bar looking up he smiled and held out his arm to her so she could be close to him. Not caring right now weather or not this was real or not she ran into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I love you" her voice was so low it was almost a muffled whisper but he could still make it out. Smiling proudly back at her he held her close and whispered i love you back.
